There are a lot of books revolved around using the potty. I like to have a variety of books to help kids become familiar with all aspects of using the potty. Books that involve your child's interests are really helpful too!
Here is a list of some of my favorite books to help prepare your child before day 1 of potty training arrives:
A Potty for Me! by Karen Katz
A no pressure book that walks your child through the steps of using the potty. Short, sweet, and rhyming: great for younger kids!
Perfect for Daniel Tiger fans! Allows you to sing the “potty song” and has a button your child can push to flush the potty.
Where’s the Poop? by Julie Markes
Shows that all creatures poop, and your child has to lift the flaps and find it! A fun way to keep potty training light. My daughter loves this one!
Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi
Straight forward and easy to read. Great for kids who are shy about using the potty.
Great for PAW Patrol lovers! Follow along with the pups as they help kids learn all about using the potty.
Slip & Slide Potty Ride by Jennifer Leroux
Add some fun to potty time where you and your kid can sing along with this rhyming book. Helpful for children who are struggling with poop, and there is a pee version too!
Let's go to the Potty! by Allison Jandu
Great for helping your child learn about getting rid of diapers and listening to their body. Plus, it was written by a potty training consultant!
From Chewing to Pooing by Lauren Gehringer
A kid friendly way to learn about digestion. Such a great book and also helpful for potty anxiety!
